Eligibility Criterion for India

Criterion for becoming Student Member
A person is eligible to be a student member of Institute of Actuaries of India if he/she satisfies following conditions :

 

1.

Passed (10+2) with at least 85% in Mathematics/Statistics.

2.

Graduate or Post Graduate with 55% of marks with subjects, Maths/ Stats/Econometrics/Computer Science/Physics. i.e. a subject in which 50% of the total course is related to Maths/Stats/Computer Science.

3.

Engineer in any disciple or equivalent

4.

MBA (Finance), ICWAI, MCA

5.

If you are a student member of following actuarial institute

Institute of Actuaries, UK

Faculty of Actuaries, UK

Society of Actuaries, USA

Casualty Actuarial Society of USA

The medium of Instruction should be in English.

 

Eligibility Criterion for UK

Once if we a student member of Institute of Actuaries of India, we can any time become a member of Institute/Faculty of Actuaries of UK. We are not allowed to take UK membership directly.

 

Eligibility Criterion for USA

USA doesn’t have any eligibility criterion. In order to become a student member of Society of Actuaries of USA you just have to clear any one of their exams.
